Ed Sheeran has released a heartfelt song almost a year after the death of his late friend Jamal Edwards, as it was recently revealed the singer spent a week at Jamal's family home after his tragic death. The emotional song has been released on SB TV, the online platform for R&B and Hip Hop stars that Jamal founded.
The new song by Sheeran includes touching lyrics as he remembers his late friend who died on February 20 last year at the age of 31. In the song Sheeran says: "We cried for nine nights at your family home, laid you to rest in the ground but without a stone."
Jamal's mum, Loose Women star Brenda Edwards, revealed on Good Morning Britain that the internationally renowned singer was at her "house for a week... just looking after" Jamal's family following Jamal's death. The song Sheeran has released has had an emotional reaction from fans.

The lyrics of Sheeran's song tug at the heartstrings as he opens up about the impact Jamal's death had on him and how he hoped his friend could have been godfather to his daughter Jupiter. In the song Sheeran says: "We cried for nine nights at your family home, laid you to rest in the ground but without a stone. You know it hits me most at moments now when I'm alone.
"Every morning I remember that you're really gone. Cos it's been a long night and I cry because I miss my brother. You know for life that I've got your sis and mother. Day and night it still hits that you're gone.
"You left the world before you met Jupiter, wish you would have known that you'd have been godfather. You would have loved loving my little girls, if not for them I'd be done with the world."
Fans were quick to respond to the hard-hitting lyrics, one wrote: "It hurts a lot, but it's also beautiful." Another wrote: "This is so raw. A beautiful tribute to Jamal, love you Ed."
A third commented: "This is a beautiful tribute to your brilliant brother Jamal. My heart breaks for you Ed." Brenda shared on Instagram yesterday (January 19) that the return of the F64s on SB TV Online would kick off with a tribute to Jamal.
