Muhammad Ali's grandson is received as a hero in Africa ahead of his fight vs Noel Lafargue

Muhammad Ali is widely regarded as the boxing GOAT, with the legend's legacy now living on through his grandson, Nico Ali Walsh, who is set to fight French boxer Noel Lafargue on Saturday in Conakry, Guinea.

Upon his arrival to Guinea, people flooded the streets to greet him and gave him a hero's welcome with music and a parade, honoring his lineage as Muhammad Ali's heir and showing him support for his next fight, making Nico Walsh Ali feel just at home.

Honoring Ali's legacy

Nico Walsh Ali is looking for redemption against Noel Lafargue after his two last fights didn't end well for him, as he lost the unbeaten after losing vs Sona Akale by a majority decision on August 26 and his combat vs Danny Rosenberger was a no-contest after his rival tested positive for PEDs.

Walsh Ali made his debut in 2021, and he used his grandfather's iconic Everlast shorts in his first fight, which were passed to him after Muhammad Ali's death back in 2016, and he has used them ever since.

Muhammad Ali: King of Africa

Several of Muhammad Ali's greatest moments happened in Africa, one of them being the 'Rumble in the Jungle' in Kinshasa, Zaire back in 1974, when Ali beat George Foreman and claimed WBC, WBA, and lineal heavyweight titles again.

Also, Ali made a trip to Lagos, Nigeria after beating Sonny Liston for the World Heavyweight Championship in 1964 when he was still Cassius Clay, being revered as 'The King of the World' by people who gathered to see him.
