The 91st Oscar nominations will stream live on multiple platforms on January 22, 2019, and Tracee Ellis Ross and Kumail Nanjiani will make the announcements. As award season is underway, there is no question that the Academy Awards are the highlight of the events. The Golden Globes are typically viewed as a precursor to the actual nominees, but there are no guarantees. While A Star is Born, Black Panther, Bohemian Rhapsody, If Beale Street Could Talk, Green Book, and BlacKkKlansman have led the way, anything is possible once the Academy votes.
Lady Gaga is one of the top picks for the best actress nomination as she’s earned acclaim for her role as Ally in Bradley Cooper’s directorial debut A Star is Born. Other popular picks for best actress include Glenn Close, Nicole Kidman, Emily Blunt, and Rosemary Pike.
Rami Malek, Bradley Cooper, Willem Dafoe, and John David Washington are favorited by many to receive the best actor nomination.
