Shay Mitchell has just welcomed her rainbow baby after suffering a miscarriage. The actress took some time off from mommy duty to attend Drake’s 33rd birthday bash.
Shay was accompanied by her boyfriend Matte Babel at the star-studded event where she shared clips of them having a good time just days after announcing that she gave birth to a baby girl.
Immediately after the news was shared, social media users slammed the Pretty Little Liars alum for leaving er newborn to go party.
One commentator on the Daily Mail wrote: ‘I see the joy of motherhood has truly helped her put her priorities in order.’
Another said: ‘Talk about selfish. There’s a little baby that needs you and you’ve left it at home so you can party. Why have a child then?’
This Twitter user brought up a deeper subject: ‘This screams some postpartum depression. No need to go out so quickly unless you’ve got to keep an eye on your man or prove something. You know how much fluid is still leaking.’
While Shay has not commented on having postpartum depression, she did open up about having pre-partum depression while keeping her pregnancy a secret earlier this month.

She explained to Hatchback that she’s been warned about postpartum but not pre-partum.
‘To be depressed at the beginning came as a shock. The isolation and anxiety I experienced was crippling. I thought I was going out of my mind and questioned why nobody ever talked to me about this phase. I’ve been fortunate since sharing the news of my pregnancy to have some amazing conversations with other pregnant women and moms and know that all these feelings are ‘normal.”
Luckily, after she revealed her pregnancy Shay was able to talk her feelings out and learn how to deal with them.
